World Halal Union is a non-governmental organization established in February 2010. The most important function of the World Halal Union is to raise awareness among consumers about the food and products they consume and to help them become conscious. With its magazine named "Halal Gıda", which it publishes every 2 months, it not only draws attention to the dangers in food and products, but also aims to highlight good practices.

World Halal Union carries out its activities in coordination with governmental institutions. It exchanges information and experience with institutions such as TSE, Türkak and implements SMIIC Standards in the field.

World Halal Union is a system that handles all processes of products and services, standardizes, audits and certifies all related processes. It consists of 52 people, who are competent in technical audits, and 250 technical scientists who have a say in their fields at home and abroad. It is a parent organization with representatives in 37 countries on 5 continents, branches in 4 provinces, and 4 authorized institutions.

Keeping halal, fraudulent products and services on the agenda, conducting research on food, agriculture and products, producing projects to create social awareness on halal, courses, seminars, panels, etc. to carry out educational studies, to collect the results of studies and researches on halal products and services, to create a documentation center, to publish periodicals, to develop standards that ensure the compliance of products and services with halal norms and to certify them by guaranteeing their compliance with the relevant standards.
