Hon. Ya'u Umar GwajoGwajo

Ya’u Umar Gwajo Gwajo (born eighth August, 1964), a politician and administrator from Katsina State. He was elected twice as member Katsina State House of Assembly, first from 1991 to 1993; and second as Speaker,[1][2] Katsina State House of Assembly from 2007 to 2011.[3]

Early life and education[edit]

GwajoGwajo was born on 8 August 1964. He started his primary education at Gwajo-Gwajo Primary School Katsina from 1972 to 1978; he then proceeded to Government Secondary School, Funtua for his secondary certificate from 1978 to 1983; he later attended Federal College of Education, Kano from 2000 to 2002.[3]

Career[edit]

GwajoGwajo begin his career as a clerk at Kaduna/Katsina State Water Board in 1987; he later contest for a seat in the State House of Assembly and won (1991- 1993); he became Councillor from 1996 to 1997 on a Non Party Basis; he then became Executive Chairman, Maiodua LGA from 2003 to 2004; Executive Chairman, Maiodua LGA, 2004–05; GwajoGwajo later became Chairman Caretaker Committee, Maiodua LGA 2005; and Executive Chairman Maiodua LGA from 2005 to 2007; he was again elected as Member/Speaker, Katsina State Mouse of Assembly, 2007. He was later appointed as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftency Affairs, Katsina State.[4]
