Yakolo Indimi (born 19 March 1977), also known as Rahama Indimi is a Nigerian Businesswoman and Philanthropist. She is the founder and CEO of Yakolo Indimi Foundation. She was a director at Oriental Energy Resources Limited and currently a director at Oriental OML 115. She is the winner of 2019 World Award for SDG Achievement.[1]

Early life and background[edit]

Yakolo Indimi was born in Maiduguri, Borno State in 1977 to a Nigerian businessman Mohammed Indimi and Hajiya Fatima Mustaph Haruna.[2][3] She attended University Primary School Maiduguri, she proceeded to El Nasr Girls' College in Alexandria, Egypt. Indimi obtained Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medical Science at Lynn University, Boca Raton, Florida. She furthered her studies at the same school and received Master degree in International management 1999[4]

Career[edit]

After completing NYSC, Indimi started her career at Oriental Energy Resources. She serves in different units twenty years, she is currently working as a director at Oriental OML 115.[1] In 2010, Indimi ventured into fashion line, she founded Fashion Café, and later established Devas Petal in 2015.[5][6]

Philanthropy[edit]

Indimi founded Yakolo Indimi Foundation with the focus of fighting poverty, eradicating hunger, delivering humanitarian assistance and provision of health services by providing funds and relief material to the people affected by Boko Haram insurgency at the Internally displaced persons camps in Borno.[7][8]

Recognition[edit]

In 2019, Indimi received awards at the 74th United Nations general assembly at New York for achieving Sustainable Development Goals, Sustainable Development Goal 1 No Poverty.[9]

Personal life[edit]

Indimi was married to Muhammad Babangida, the son of the former Nigerian military president Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida. They have four children. [10][11]
