Yasuo Baba (馬場 康夫, Baba Yasuo, born Aug 18, 1954) is a Japanese novelist, short story writer, essayist and filmmaker.

In 1981, he began serializing the 4-panel comic project ``Kimagure Concept in the manga magazine Big Comic Spirits (Shogakukan).

After that, he planned TV programs and published books, and in 1983, he published a book, ``Premium Lectures: Strategy and Development for Meha (Shogakukan), which became a bestseller with sales of 650,000 copies.

In 1987, he made the film ``Take Me Skiing, his first film as a director.

This work, as well as the later films ``Urban Marine Resort Story (1989) and ``Hold Me as Many Waves (1991), were both huge commercial successes in Japan.

Hoichoi Productions, headed by Yasuo Baba, has become an image leader in the lifestyle of young people.

Since then, he has been involved in the production of many books, television programs, movies, etc. up to the present day.
