Yemi Emiko (Pius Ebiyemi Emiko) is a Delta State politician and businessman. He is the younger brother to the late Olu of Warri Ogiame Ikenwoli I and uncle to the current Olu of Warri, His Majesty, King Ogiame Atuwatse III.[1][2][3]
Biography
Born to Olu Erejuwa II (1951–1986) and Olori Bokatsere on 12 April 1958, Emiko is the brother to both the late Olu Atuwatse II and late Ogiame Ikenwoli I.
Career
Prince Pius Ebiyemi Emiko is a Public Affairs Analyst, a Community Engagement Strategist and Oil/Gas Consultant. After completing his primary education at St. John's Primary School, Warri and secondary at Hussey College, Warri in the 70s, he trained at Shell Training School, Warri as a plant operator. By 1983, he had obtained a degree in Mass Communication at University of Nigeria, Nsukka and then completed his Youth Service with Rima Radio, Sokoto between 1983 and 1984. He then proceeded to work with the Federal Ministry of Communications in Sokoto.[4] He also had a stint with Bendel Television from 1985 to 1987.
He then left to work with Chevron in different capacities, in different locations from 1989 till 2007 when he retired. As a Leader, Emiko was the Special Adviser, Planning and Strategy to the Delta State Chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) party from 2011–2014. He was also the APC Senatorial Candidate for Delta South in the 2015 general elections. He served in the Election Planning and Monitoring Directorate of the APC Campaign Council in 2019. He was named a Member of the Support Group Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in 2023 and served as Coordinator of the APC Campaign for Delta South Zone in 2023.[5]
Within Delta state, he is recognized as one of their top chieftains in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Party, which is the present ruling party in Nigeria.[6][7] Pius Ebiyemi Emiko is a Member of the Olu of Warri’s Advisory Council and also recognized as a Prince of the Warri Kingdom.
Pius Yemi Emiko is the Director of Shotis–Ark Nig. Ltd, AMW Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (Operators of PPL 251), Seistech Energy Ltd, Allamanda Nig. Ltd.; a Construction and Marine Company in Warri. He is also the Chairman of Sica Intercontinental Ltd., a QAQC Testing and Certification Company, Eurowells Ltd, Lagos and chairman, Dominion Shipping and Freight Ltd, Lagos.

In 2016, Yemi Emiko lost his 23-year-old son to unknown gunmen in Houston, Texas, USA.[8][9] When in 2021, around the coronation of the new Olu of Warri, the crown of the Olu was stolen, he, as Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Olu of Warri Coronation Ceremony was one of those that allayed the fear that it would not affect the coronation of the Olu, Atuwatse III.[10][11][12]
Emiko, as part of the reconciliation process in the Warri Kingdom, released an interview detailing some events that led to the suspension of the Ologbotsere of the Warri Kingdom.[13][14][15] Emiko is married to Kathy Emiko, a lifestyle coach and owner of Body Perfect online academy. They are blessed with children.[16]
