Yi Woon-shin (Korean: 이운신) is a Royal shaman of Bhetan[lower-alpha 1], having assumed the role since 2025 following the foundation of the position of the royal shaman in April 2025.
Biography
Yi Woon-shin was born at Bukchon Hanok Village, Jogno. After his first year birthday anniversary, he certainly flee to Brunei and raised there.
He was the eldest from the four children of Yi Byeong-seok and Kim Yan-ti. He is the only Gyeonggwiseok family who was born in traditional village.
According to the Gyeonggwiseok family, the newborn member should have a Muslim and Korean name due to mixed blood of Malay and Korean ancestry.
Yi Woon-shin is fluent in Malay, English, and Korean. He has discussed the initial difficulty of adjusting to the cultural and language differences but then became fluent in Korean in less than three-half years.
In 2021, Yi decided to became a most unique shaman in Brunei, which known as Sunni-Shamanism, an Sunni Muslim faith who had strong influence on Korean shamanism.
