Rabbi Yitzchak Etshalom (Hebrew: יצחק עתשלום) is an American Orthodox Rabbi. He is a lecturer in Tanakh, gemara, and Jewish philosophy.[1]
Early life[edit]
Rabbi Yitzchak Etshalom attended Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavne, and Yeshivat Har Etzion before receiving semicha (rabbinical ordination) from the Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, Rabbi Itzhak Kolitz.[2]
Career[edit]
Yitzchak Etshalom started the Beit Midrash program at YULA Girls High School [3] and the Beit Midrash program at Shalhevet High School,[2] where he currently serves as Head of the Beit Midrash.[4] He directs the Tanach Masters Program at YULA Boys’ High School[5] and frequently serves as Scholar in Residence throughout North America.[6] Rabbi Etshalom lectures annually at the “Ymei Iyyun” Tanakh Seminar at Herzog College.[5] In addition, he teaches Daf Yomi at Young Israel of Century City [7] and his podcasts on Daf Yomi[8] have attracted an international following, as have his Tanakh podcasts. Rabbi Etshalom authored the series “Between the Lines of the Bible,” a methodological guide to the study of Tanakh.[5] He currently writes a weekly article for Yeshivat Har Etzions's Virtual Beit Midrash on the book of Amos that will be published as part of the Koren Maggid Studies in Tanakh.[9]

Yitzchak Etshalom lives in Los Angeles with his wife and five children.[1]
