Yolato is an upscale franchise of frozen dessert restaurants headquartered in New York City. There are currently 3 stores, 2 in New York City and 1 in New Jersey. The frozen yogurt store based out of Edgewater competes in the tri-state area against other frozen yogurt specialty stores such as Red Mango and Pinkberry.[1]

Menu[edit]

Yolato's menu consists of Original, Green Tea and Blackberry flavored frozen yogurt style desserts, in two sizes. New flavors are constantly being tested and added, "forest-berry" being a recent example. Other products offered include gelato, sorbets, and crepes. Fruit toppings, cut fresh on-site, include: strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, banana, kiwi, mango, and pineapple. There are also a variety of dry toppings to choose from, including: almonds, carob chips, chestnuts (new topping), chocolate chips, Cocoa Pebbles, Fruity Pebbles, coconut, mochi (rice cakes), yogurt chips, cookies 'n cream, granola, and Cap'n Crunch.

Nutrition facts[edit]

A single serving of Yolato "Original Frozen Yogurt" is 120g.[2] Yolato's Original Frozen Yogurt is fat-free. The addition of toppings adds calories, sugar, and fat.

Competitors[edit]

Yolato has had to compete with the recent influx of competitors from the west coast and internationally. Key competitors include Pinkberry, Kiwiberri, Berri Good, Yogurberry, and Red Mango,USA.[3]

Yolato Express[edit]

Yolato has launched Yolato Express, whose first location opened in River Edge, New Jersey. It offers frozen yogurt and gelato with fresh toppings, although a more limited menu than the traditional shops. The River Edge location also offers coffee and espresso (serving Illy coffee). The soft-serve machines are being installed right now - there are over 30 around town so far and over 50 shops have signed up - the company's goal is to make Yolato Express available at over 100 locations in the tri-state area by the end of the year - far surpassing the number of Pinkberry and Red Mango outlets.
