Milandou Badila (Born September 12, 1987), known professionally as Young Paris is a Congolese-born artist, born in Paris and raised in New York. He’s also a singer-songwriter and a member of Jay Z's Roc Nation.

Biography

Young Paris was born on September 12, 1987, in Paris.[1] He was born to immigrant parents who lived in Paris, France, and later moved to New York, and he was the tenth child of his family.[2] He grew up in a strong, traditional family; his mother was a playwright and dancer in New York, and his father was the founder of the National Ballet in Congo and was also a dancer.[3] Young Paris was born into a musical family; at the age of 15, he was already pursuing a music career, and that was the moment when he became a choreographer. He started dancing and teaching dance in New York, and by continuing to grow, he started rapping and dance teaching at age 17.[4] After he got encouraged by many people, he started to take his music career seriously. As being part of African cultures and one of the most creative artists, Young Paris discovered a popular hashtag on the internet, #MelanninMonday, to encourage people of color to share their beauty and education. He also created a company, Melanited.com, as a line of merchandise in 2016.

Musical career

In July 2016, Young Paris moved to New York and signed with Roc Nation.[5] He released his first album, "African Vogue".
