Yuka Takayanagi (高柳祐花) was formerly Prism Mates leader before their disbandment in March 31, 2017[1]. She is currently a PriPara Girls Research Student[2] and has her own podcast where she learns about voice acting.

History[edit]

Yuka was born on June 27, 2001 in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. She has a younger sister whom Yuka keeps identity private. She is a fan of anime and wants to be a voice actress in the future. She also enjoys collecting Prism Stones.

Career[edit]

Prism Mates 2012-2017[edit]

Yuka joined Prism Mates in 2012 after the original Prism Mates (now known as Prizmmy) changed their name. She was among the 10 other girls who was chosen as temporary helpers to Prizmmy during the Pretty Rhythm Studios. She auditioned to be a permanent Prism Mates member and was given Mates number 5. When Hina and Runa graduated from Prism Mates, Yuka was given the role as Sub-leader to replace Runa in 2015. Soon after Natsu and Kanon graduated from the group in April 2016, she was made leader of the group with Mirei as the sub-leader. Yuka had a duet with Natsu called "Pojikaru World"[3] (Positive Magical World) which was initially released on December 11, 2013 but then released again in Prizmmy's 2nd album "Music Goes On" on June 25, 2014.

During their last live on March 31, 2017, Yuka requested 627 armbands to fall from the ceiling because that number represented her birthday.

4 members of Prism Mates, Airi, Momona, Mirei and Yuka became Prism Idol Research Students, here they released an MV with the song Idol Kinryoku Lesson Go. In the studio version, the 4 girls don't sing the song but Laala Manaka's voice actress, Himika Akaneya from iRis, sings the song. However, the girls sing it during lives.

Activities[edit]

In 2015, Yuka was cast in a drama called 5 nin no Junko, where she appeared as flashbacks.[4]

In 2016, Yuka appeared in the ad for the PriPara Rosette Pact[5], which she along with former Prism Mates member Airi promoted on Chao TV.

Modeling[edit]

Other than appearing on several girl magazines, Yuka modeled for JS Girl as a reader model and even appeared in Nico Petite's JS Girl Collection. She also became a kimono model for Maruyama Kyousai Group. She also modeled for Prism Stone frequently, a brand represented by Prizmmy and Prism Mates, where they would hold live performances in store and assist in selling the products.

Hosting[edit]

Yuka was known for being Prism Mates best host along with Prizmmy's Hina. She would host for various live shows such as their own and even was a host for Idol Planet Extreme Live 2015.[6] Yuka was also given her own podcast called "Will you enter Yuka Takayanagi's radio with a snack?" (高柳祐花のラジオはおやつに入りますか?) where she learns how to voice act and gives examples of her imitating certain characters from anime.[7]
