Yang Yu Teng, (born January 3, 1995) is Japanese-Taiwanese model, actor and singer currently active and stated in Taipei, commonly known by his stage name YU, was born in Nagoya, Japan. His father is Japanese and his mother is Taiwanese. He was discovered by a brokerage company after participating in a Campus Fashion Show during his college years. Always showing great talent and interest in diverse areas, YU graduated from the Department of Food and Beverage Management of Shih Hsin University in the year 2018. Currently, he is dedicated to the entertainment industry, and was admitted to the Institute of Public Relations and Advertising of Shih Hsin University in early 2020.

Milestones

• During his college years in SHU, Yang Yu Teng was recruited by a brokerage company after modelling for a Campus Fashion Show in 2017. In July 2018, joined by his close friends model and presenter 熊嶽Ocean / Bear Ocean and stunt-man professional actor 林立揚Sean Lin , they formed "The Pet Shop Boys" for the reality-style online program "YO! The recording of Pet Boys", which can be found on Youtube .
• In November 2018 he was invited to take part in the first talent competition reality show "以团之名/All For One" produced by 優酷/Youku, but he quit during the preliminary training stage.
• In April 2019 he acted as a support role in the movie version of the classic "尋秦記 Back to the past", starring Gu Tianle and Xuan Xuan.
• In July 31 of 2020 and following his life-long passion for music, YU released his first solo single "Follow" was released , proceeding to further showcasing his numerous charms through the release of a music video on YouTube August 3rd Platform Release .
• In August 12th of 2020, the well-rounded artist made his official musical debut with the EP "我的夜無所事事 / Nothing to do at night". The mini album also includes the song 水藍色情人 / Blue Lover", which sweet melody and bittersweet lyrics, accompanied by YU's soothing voice and unrivalled visuals as shown in his second music video, released on September 1, sealed his fate by not only being selected as a soundtrack for the Taiwanese BL/BoysLove drama We Best Love, in which he also debuted his first big acting role as the fierce and ambitious mixed-blood protagonist 周書逸/Zhou Shuyi.
• In October 2020 he was officially introduced as Zhou Shu Yi in a media press conference for WeTV's upcoming romance serie "We Best Love" and it's second season "Fighting Mr. Second". Not only it was his first protagonist role, YU also challenged the BL genre alongside big names within the entertainment industry such as his co-star Lin Zihong/Sam Lin, as well as the veteran actors Zhang Ruijia and Shi Zhitian. The first season was officially released on January 8th of 2021, soon being followed by the second season's release in March 5th of 2021. The work exploded in popularity not only in Asia but in several foreign countries, catapulting the fresh and talented Yang Yuteng into instant stardom.
• In April 2021 his first Photobook "ハーフ/Half" was released, quickly soaring to the top of best selling charts.
• In May 2021 YU has been signed as the global ambassador of the International Accessory Brand EAST ICE, another major breakthrough in the youth celebrity sensation's career as it marks not only his first brand endorsement, but also a very successful one - his collection "Lock YU Heart" was globally released in June 11th and quickly sold-out.
• In August 12th of 2021, on the first anniversary of his debut, he signed the Japanese brokerage agent to AMUSE and officially debuted in Japan. The young artist not only has plans to expand his works to Japan, but recently he also mentioned that has been discussions to explore de South Korean market as well.
• In August 27th of 2021 he surprised all his fans with the release of a teaser for his upcoming rock genre song and music video 懷疑愛 "Doubt About Love", officially released on September 1st of 2021.
• In September 23rd of 2021 his second successful collaboration with the International Accessory Brand EAST ICE was released, gifting the fans with unique high-fashion accessories accompanied by several heartwarming freebies.
• In September 24th of 2021, and following the success of his previous endorsement, YU was officially announced as global ambassador for the Skin Care Brand Otimo with the release of the collection "BE YU".
• In October 4th of 2021 he surprised the fans once again by releasing a second music video for his new rock-ballad song 天使烏鴉 "Fallen Angel".
• In October 8th of 2021 his new EP 邃宇 "Dark Wings" containing the two self-composed songs 懷疑愛 "Doubt About Love" and 天使烏鴉 "Fallen Angel" was officially released, soon shooting up to the top of the best selling charts again, proving once more not only his admirable versatility as an artist, but also his unmatched and ever-growing popularity.
• In November 12 of 2021, following the ferocious and determined request from thousands of fans worldwide, Result Entertainment and WeTV dropped the long-awaited 微波爐男孩的假期 "Microwave Boys Holiday" variety show, starring the We Best Love cast in a casual, funny and fast-paced camping adventure, once again proving the cast's unmatched chemistry and easily justifiable popularity.
