Mark Lam (born December 2, 2002), known professionally as Yung Lord Fine$$, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. His debut album, Every Lord Needs a Lady, ranked at the 184th position on the iTunes Top 200 Pop Genre Charts.

Early life and education

Fine$$ was born and raised in Upstate New York. His musical background originated during his elementary school years at Brown School, where he developed guitar, public speaking, and performing arts skills. He then attended Niskayuna High School, where he began experimenting with freestyles and writing his own rap lyrics. During high school, he acquired the stage name "Yung Lord Fine$$" from a fellow SoundCloud rapper during an encounter in Spanish class. As Lam returned to his seat, the rapper spontaneously declared him as "Yung Lord Fine$$".[1][2]

Following high school, Fine$$ enrolled in the biology program at Siena College. Two years later, he transferred to the University at Albany, from which he received a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences. In April 2024, he was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success.[3]

During the summer of 2023, Fine$$ founded his record label, YLF Records™, a music label and limited liability company based in New York State.[citation needed]

Music career

2019–2021: Early mixtapes and releases

Fine$$ began his music career with his first rap lyrics, "Drip on Me" and "Louis the Snakes," written in 2019. He collaborated with TheKingJB to work on "Don't Forget" and "Balllin," which were initially released but later removed from music platforms. Fine$$ also collaborated with M.T. on "You Lost Me".[citation needed]

2021: Debut single "Lost" and first performance

Fine$$'s debut single, "Lost", was released on August 27, 2021. The song is a collaborative work with Valious, a Dutch artist. He also made his first-ever performance, which took place at Nigro Plaza of Sarazen Student Union at Siena College in April 2021.[4][5]

2022–Present: Every Lord Needs a Lady

On December 31, 2022, Fine$$ released his debut album, "Every Lord Needs a Lady".[citation needed] The album features a range of genres, including rap, pop, and "opera-like" elements.[6] The tracklist is arranged chronologically, telling the story of his past two years. It is divided into two distinct themes: the first half focuses on heartbreak, while the second explores love.[citation needed]
