Yuri Alimovich Volodarsky (Russian: Юрий Алимович Володарский; born June 3, 1965, Kiev, USSR) is a critic, journalist, and publicist.[1][2][3]

Biography[edit]

He graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Tartu. Since 2002, he has worked for the magazines Afisha, 10 days, and Profile, and he was the editor of the department of culture and deputy editor-in-chief of the newspaper 24. His articles have been published in Ukrainian and Russian media including Forbes.ua [uk], Gazeta Po-Kievski [ru], Politeka [uk], Cultprostir, Ogoniok, Chastny Korrespondent, Novy Mir, and Colta.ru. Permanent literary columnist for the "SHO [uk]" magazine, the "2000 (newspaper) [ru]", the "Focus" magazine, collaborates with other network and print publications.

In 2015, he was a member of the jury of the leading literary prize of Ukraine The BBC's Book of the Year [uk] and the journalistic competition Text. In 2016, he hosted the author's program on literature "Book estate". He is the author of the book of poems Notes of live bait (1998) and compiler of the collection The sky of this summer. Stories of Ukrainian Writers (2015).
