Eduard Dolinsky (Ukrainian: Едуард Ісаакович Долінський) (born August 8, 1969, Lutsk, USSR), Director General of Ukrainian Jewish Committee.

Biography[edit]

Eduard Dolinsky was born in the city of Lutsk, Ukraine, graduated from Lutsk Medical Institute. 1988 - 1990 he served in the Air Force of the Soviet Army. For many years he had served at the executive positions in All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress and United Jewish Community of Ukraine. In 2015, by the decree of the President of Ukraine, was included in the 75th anniversary Babiy Yar Steering Committee.[1]

Head of the international organization Ukrainian Jewish Committee. On his Twitter and Facebook pages he publishes historical facts, cases of anti-Semitic statements, photos and videos related to the manifestation of hatred of the Jewish people.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

...according to the law on decommunization, [in Ukraine] those individuals who took part in the Holocaust, in war crimes, in the murder of Jews and Poles are recognized as heroes. They are forbidden to criticize and question their actions. This is not the case in any country where the Holocaust took place.[10]

On April 30, 2021, Dolinsky was added to the site Myrotvorets, a site that publishes personal information of people it considers the "enemies of Ukraine".[11]

Statements[edit]

On his Facebook and Twitter pages, he regularly writes about Jewish life in Ukraine, cases of anti-Semitism, glorification of Holocaust perpetrators, on renaming of monuments and streets in honor of war criminals and Holocaust perpetrators.

Some of Eduard Dolinsky's statements:

  • He stated that "The Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists fought for a Ukraine free from Poles and Jews."[12]
  • He warned that in Kyiv they were going to install a memorial sign to the Nazi collaborator and Holocaust perpetrator Volodymyr Bahaziy. After an international outcry, this initiative was canceled.[13]
  • He declared about the “growth of anti-Semitism in Ukraine”.[14][15]
  • He announced the creation of a list of anti-Semites and xenophobes, which will be distributed to embassies and coordinated with international Jewish and human rights organizations.[16]
  • Reported an attempt to name a street in Kyiv in honor of the Nazi collaborator and co-participant in the Holocaust Volodymyr Kubijovyč. After an international outcry and a conversation between Israeli Ambassador Michael Brodsky and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, this initiative was canceled.[17][18][19]
  • He reported on the Lviv school teacher Maryana Batyuk, who praised Adolf Hitler. Batyuk was fired.[20]

Personal life and family[edit]

Oksana Evgenievna Dolinskaya (Solopa), a construction engineer. She was born in Irkutsk, a native of the Russian Federation, a graduate of the National university of water resources and environmental management [ru]. She is engaged in research work and documentaries about Lutsk; she has released three such films. They have a son, Mark Eduardovich Dolinsky, who is graduated from Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya.
