Yvon Bock is a Singaporean entrepreneur who is the founder and CEO of Hegen, a mother and baby brand known for its line of breastfeeding products.[1]. Motivated and inspired by her own experiences as a mother of four, Yvon started Hegen with the purpose of advocating the breastfeeding experience with a focus to simplify and enhance the nursing process[2].

In 2017, Yvon led Hegen to be the first Singaporean company to be featured in Alibaba’s 11.11 global shopping festival for three consecutive years running[3].

Yvon was named winner of the “Great Women of Our Time” in the Finance and Commerce category in 2016[4], that was organised by The Singapore Women’s Weekly and the Overall Winner in the Nova Category at the Women Entrepreneur Awards in 2018[5]. She went on to clinch the silver spot for Stevie Awards for Women in Business in 2020[6] and was awarded Fortune Times “Asia’s Women Empowerment Award’ in 2021[7].

Personal Life[edit]

Yvon Bock was born on 1 January 1979 in Singapore. Her father, Chan Ching, is the managing director of plastics contract manufacturer Fitson Singapore[8]. Yvon’s parents have been in the mother and baby care industry for over 30 years[9].

She is married to Leon Bock who is co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Hegen and has 4 children[10].

Career[edit]

Yvon worked in sales and marketing at Deustche Asset Management Group Limited from August 2000 to August 2004, before joining her father in Fitson part-time[11]. Her father then sponsored her enrolment in a Fashion Design course at NAFA with the intention for her to join him at Fitson upon her course completion[12]

In 2014, she founded Hegen as her own company and embarked on creating a completely new product line meant to serve and enhance the nursing experience for mothers, based on her personal breastfeeding journey[13]. Hegen was coined from an old German idiom, “hegen und pflegen” where it reflects the company’s belief in creating a positive impact and contribution to both its clients in everything it commits to[14]. Using her experience in design and manufacturing, Yvon prioritised intensive research and product design before finally launching Hegen in 2015.
