The "Hollyweed" Incident[edit]

In January 2017, Fernandez gained recognition after altering the Hollywood Sign to "Hollyweed" on New Year’s Day.[6][7][8][9][10] The same year, he dropped an impeachment banner on Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The banner said, “You're Fired” and sparked controversy among netizens.[11][12][4]

After the ‘Hollyweed’ scandal,[13][14][15][16] he launched a march online on his website to sell sweatshirts that said “Hollywood Hollyweed Hollywoed”. According to sources, each sweatshirt cost as much as $150 and within the first 24 hours, Fernandez made about $68,000.[17][18]

In 2019, Fernandez founded the cannabis lifestyle brand “Hollyweed”.[19][20][21][22] He launched the brand at the licensed cannabis B2B Hall of Flowers the same year.[23][24][25][26]

In 2020, Fernandez created the first movie poster made entirely out of weed for Guy Ritchie's film The Gentlemen.[27][28][29] On April 20, 2021, he launched Hollyweed CBD.[30][31]
