On April 19, 2011, producer J. J. Abrams hired Monica Breen and Alison Schapker to rewrite the film Zanbato, which Francis Lawrence originally attached to direct.[1] On March 1, 2019, Guillermo del Toro was reported to as the writer and director of Zanbato.[2]
