Zhou Shimiao

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Zhou Shimiao is a Chinese architect who has been noted as being "internationally acclaimed" in the field of architecture.[1][2] In 2010, Zhou, American Marshall Strabala and two other Chinese partners founded 2DEFINE, an architecture firm based on China.[3]

Firm dissolution[edit]

"For reasons that are very much in dispute, the [2DEFINE Architecture] partnership soured and litigation ensued, first in China where the partnership was centered, and then in Illinois."[3]

In February 2015, Strabala sued his partners Qiao Zhang and Zhou (the fourth founder had already left the firm) in Illinois alleging "Zhang and Zhou were secretly diverting money from 2DEFINE," though Zhang and Zhou denied "any wrongdoing."[3] In November 2016, the Illinois court partlially denied and partially granted the defendants' motion to dismiss the lawsuit. [3][4] There were also three lawsuits in China.[3] According to Zhou in an affidavit in the Illinois lawsuit, "the first two lawsuits [in China] have been resolved, while the third was still pending at the time the affidavit was filed."[3]
