Zhou Tao is a Chinese physicist and a professor at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. He is known for his contribution to complex network analysis and network-based recommendation system.

Career[edit]

Zhou Tao grew up in Chengdu, China. He earned his Bachelor degree and master degree in theoretical physics at University of Science and Technology of China; he earned his Ph.D. degree in theoretical physics at University of Fribourg, Switzerland. Since then he moved back to Chengdu, China to work at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China as a distinguished professor. Currently, he is the youngest professor in Sichuan province of China. Currently, Zhou Tao served as a member of the Sichuan Provincial Decision and Advisory Committee, Dean of Sichuan Digital Economy Research Institute, Chengdu Science and Technology Consultant, Dean of Chengdu Big Data Industry Technology Research Institute, Executive Dean of Chengdu New Economic Development Research Institute, Sichuan Province and Chengdu An important think tank expert for the city’s high-quality economic development

Research[edit]

After moving back to China, he mainly focused in complexity science and big data mining algorithm and application research, and successively overcome important problems in the field of graph mining such as recommendation system accuracy-diversity dilemma, complex network link predictability, H index-degree-core degree relationship, etc. Published in top international journals and conferences such as PNAS, Nature Communications, Physics Reports, KDD and ICDM. At present, the paper has been cited more than 14,000 times on Google, of which 8 papers were selected as ESI highly cited papers, with an H index of 57. In 2014 and 2015, they were included in the list of Elsevier's most influential Chinese scientists.
