Zionist Spirit (Hebrew: הרוח הציוניתHaruach HaTzionit) was an Israeli political alliance made up of Ayelet Shaked's Yamina-New Right party and Yoaz Hendel's Derekh Eretz party, though Yamina left the alliance on 11 September 2022, leaving Derekh Eretz alone, though the party withdrew from the race on 13 September.

The alliance was created to participate in the 2022 Israeli legislative election.

History[edit]

The alliance was established on 27 July 2022,[3] though it split on 11 September.[6]

The Jewish Home had asked on 9 September that Shaked split from Derekh Eretz as a prerequisite for a joint run between itself and Shaked.[7] Party members of The Jewish Home (including Hagit Moshe and Yossi Brodny) had ratified an agreement on a joint run between Yamina and itself two days later.[8] The joint run was expected to be announced on 12 September, though it was not held that day due to disagreements within The Jewish Home on the details.[9] The joint run was announced on 13 September.[10]

Hendel stated on 11 September that he will "continue to lead" Zionist Spirit.[11] However, two days later, both Hendel and his political partner, Zvi Hauser, announced that they would not run in the 2022 election.[12]
