Ziv Biron is a businessman and the president and CEO of IDB Bank, a New York-based private and commercial bank with locations in the United States, Latin America and Israel.[2]
Early life
Biron excelled in higher education and obtained three academic degrees with honors.[3] He received a BA and LLB from Tel Aviv University, as well as an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.[4]
Career
Before being promoted to President and CEO of IDB Bank in October 2019, Biron had served as chief financial officer and head of planning strategy at Discount Bank, IDB's Tel Aviv-based parent company. At Discount Bank, Biron received media attention for his work in digital transformation and digital banking.[5] Of note, Biron oversaw the creation of an artificial intelligence-driven digital assistant through a partnership with fintech Personetics Technologies.[6] The AI, called Didi, was the first of its kind for Israel's banking industry.[7]
Earlier in his career, Biron held executive roles at Bank Hapoalim Israel, HSBC Bank USA and HSBC Global.[8]
