Vee Technologies is a global strategic services company that is dually headquartered in New York, U.S., and Bangalore, India.
History[edit]
Vee Technologies was founded in 2000 by V. Chockalingam, a fourth-generation entrepreneur from the Sona Valliappa Group.[1] The Sona Valliappa Group was founded by Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar in the 1920s. The group pioneered India’s growth in the textiles[2]., plantations,[3] construction, Education (Sona College of Technology), (Thiagarajar Polytechnic Salem [4][5]), (Sonayukti [6]), (Sona Public School) and banking industries(Bank of Madura).
The Sona Valliapa Group sparked the IT revolution in Bangalore by building Sona Towers, the first software technological park[7] in Karnataka, India, in the 1980s. Sona Towers is where Texas Instruments set up a software design center, becoming the first U.S. multinational company to do so. Sona Towers is also where India’s first satellite dish with up-linking facilities for IT companies[8] was installed in 1985.[9]
Vee Technologies began operations in Sona Towers, Bangalore, in 2000. It started operations by providing medical billing and payor services for the US healthcare industry.[10]
Operations[edit]
In 2000, the corporate headquarters opened in Bangalore, Karnataka. In 2002, the second delivery center opened in Salem, Tamil Nadu. In 2009, its first U.S. office was opened in Philadelphia. In 2010, the New York headquarters was started.
