Zorii Fain

Zorii Yukhymovych Fain (Zoriy Fine) (born September 10, 1972 in Vinnytsia) is a Ukrainian photographer, composer, teacher, and essay writer.

Biography[edit]

Fain studied piano at the Mykola Leontovych Vinnytsia Music College from 1987 to 1990. In 1989, he started teaching in the Teacher's Club.

In 1990 he was admitted to and in 1995 graduated from the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, majoring in composition.

From 1995 to 2001 Fain worked in Moscow for various publishing houses. As a graphic artist, he participated in publishing more than 70 printed projects. He also taught in private schools.

From 2002–2005 he worked in Kyiv as a personal photographer of Petro Poroshenko, a political photographer, covering proceedings in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, for Vinnytsia mass media.

In 2005 founded a photo studio, "Photo Fine Studio".

President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko awarded him an honorary title of Honored Artist of Ukraine as a senior research fellow of Vinnytsia Art Museum in 2009 (Decree of the President of Ukraine of 12.05.09, #305)

Since 2015 has been teaching in Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University (named after Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky), Department of Journalism.

  • Diploma winner of the all-Ukrainian photo contest "Best Wedding Photographer of 2010".

  • Member of International Union of Journalists of Slavic countries (since 1999)
  • Member of National Unions of Journalists of Ukraine (since 2002) and Russia (since 2000)
  • Member of Union of Photo Artists of Russia (since 2000).

In 2002 his name was entered into the catalogue of the Ukrainian Heraldry Academy Who is Who in Vinnytsia Oblast. Well-known country-men. His works have been published in Ukraine and abroad, including The Ukrainian, newspapers The Washington Post and The Ukrainian Weekly. He has mounted and held more than 60 personal exhibitions in Kyiv (including in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 2002.; British Council, 2003.; Dom Kino Cinema, 2004), in Russia (in Moscow and St.Petersburg) and other countries.
