16 Bars Recording Studio is a public access studio located in Jackson, Mississippi. It was opened in 2005 and is owned and operated by Kevin "KJ" Jones. Recording, mixing, and mastering many genres of music including Rap, R&B, and Blues, this studio has become one of the most reputable and trusted recording studios in Mississippi and beyond. [1] [2][3] Engineer/Producer Kevin "KJ" Jones won the award for Studio of the Year at the Jackson Hip Hop Awards in January 2015.[4] Kevin "KJ" Jones accepted the award for Studio/Engineer of the Year at the Mississippi Hip-Hop Culture Awards on October 26, 2019. [5][6] In 2020, Kevin "KJ" Jones was awarded with the Studio/Engineer of the Year award by the Hood Idol Tour. [7]
