Pool 3 of the 1991 Rugby World Cup began on 4 October and completed on 13 October. The pool was composed by the 4th place Australia, the hosts and 1987 Rugby World Cup 3rd place Wales, the debut Western Samoa and Argentina.

Overview[edit]

Pool 3 produced a major shock by Western Samoa, who were making their debut in the tournament and defeated 1987 semi-finalist Wales 16–13 in Cardiff. Along with the other results this led to the elimination of Wales, who finished third.
