The 1996 Belgian Super Cup was a football match played on 22, between the winner of the 1995–96 Belgian First Division, Club Brugge KV, and the finalists of the 1995–96 Belgian Cup, Cercle Brugge K.S.V., FC Bruges having won the League-Cup double the previous season.
FC Bruges won the match 5-2, making this the highest-scoring Super Cup. It was the eighth victory for the club in this competition.[1][2]
