At around 19:00 CET, on November 24, 2015, a number of people were taken hostage by a group of armed men in the town of Roubaix in northern France, leaving some injured.[1] Witnesses reported several gunshots were fired.[2] Police say the incident may be related to a robbery and not to the November 2015 attacks in Paris. A bank director and his family were taken hostage. At 22:00 CET, police announced the situation was over, with one gunman killed and one arrested, and the hostages all safe.[3][4]
