The 2019 Australian Open Men's Singles final was the championship tennis match of the Men's Singles tournament at the 2019 Australian Open, contested between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, ranked first and second in the world, respectively.[1] Djokovic won the final in straight sets to win his record seventh Australian Open title, surpassing Roy Emerson and Roger Federer for most titles, and his 15th Grand Slam title, surpassing Pete Sampras for third on the all-time list.[2]

The matchup was highly anticipated because of their storied rivalry, including the legendary 2012 Australian Open final, and guaranteed to make tennis history, with either Djokovic winning a record seventh Australian Open title or Nadal becoming the first male player in the Open Era to complete the double career Grand Slam.
