On December 24 2022, a winter storm occurred through out Northeastern United States and Great Lakes region It affected Christmas Eve and Christmas plans. It was caused by a Cold front from the arctic and started extreme winds, tearing down power lines and made more than 1 million homes and businesses nationwide without power[1] It has killed at least 22 people and plummeted temperatures possibly setting records. In New York’s Buffalo area are currently under a blizzard and several feet of snow effectively buried roads and homes which caused people to get buried and in some cases frozen.[3] In Erie County blizzard conditions were worsening and sent multiple weather warnings and left 500 motorists stranded. [4] Approximately millions of people's flights have been affected with 7,423 flights delayed and 3,426 cancelled within, into or out of the US on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day 5,267 delayed and 3,627 cancelled.
