2b2t

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

2builders2tools (2b2t) is a Minecraft "anarchy" multiplayer server founded in 2010 by two players known as "Hausemaster"[1][2][3] and "Georgebush420."[4] 2b2t is the oldest anarchy server in the game[1][2], as well as one of the oldest running servers.[4][5] As the server is an anarchy server, there are no rules or authority within it, and so griefing and cheating is common.[6][7][8][9]

History

2b2t was founded in late 2010 as a test server[8] by the players "Hausemaster"[1][2] and "Georgebush420."[4] The server was advertised on online forums such as Reddit and 4chan.[8] The server's first population boost was from the online forum for Facepunch. Many members from the forum joined the server and established bases. The first skirmishes of battle were between members of different forums who launched raids against each other and their work.[1][2]

YouTuber TheCampingRusher uploaded a YouTube video on June 1, 2016, in which he played on 2b2t.[1][2][3] A queue to enter the server was soon added due to the massive influx of new players caused by the video's popularity. The queue gives older 2b2t players a priority over the newer players.[3]

Reception

Roisin Kiberd of The Independent and Newsweek describes playing on the server as feeling "lost and overwhelmed", and concluded that the appeal of the server comes form having endured the hostile environment.[1]
