ASSIA, Inc. (pronunciation: [asɪa]) is an American company that develops and sells products and software for managing broadband networks and residential Wi-Fi networks. “ASSIA” is an acronym for “adaptive spectrum and signal alignment.”

History[edit]

ASSIA was founded in 2003 by John Cioffi, an American electrical engineer who has carried out extensive research in the area of DSL.[1][2]

ASSIA is privately held. Its owners include AT&T, Mingly China Growth Fund, SFR Development, Sandalwood Partners, Sofinnova Ventures, Stanford University, Swisscom Ventures, Telefónica, and T-Ventures.[3]

ASSIA's customers include telecommunication service providers in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and now has more than 70 million DSLs under contract worldwide.[4][5]

ASSIA has worked in the field of dynamic spectrum management (DSM), a standards-based software approach to optimizing broadband performance.[6]
