Biography[edit]

Born in 1971, in the library of a rural secondary school in Guangdong, China, Ajia studied law at Fudan University, Shanghai, and worked as a clerk in court, as a lawyer and lectured in law at university. When his daughter was born, he changed career to children's books and promoting reading.[4] In 2000, he and his brother launched the children's book website Hongniba (Red Mud) to promote reading. He has written (and co-written) several books about promoting reading, authored a number of children's books, and translated over 200 children's books into Chinese. As an independent researcher in children's books, who has driven Chinese children's literature in China, he is frequently invited as a public speaker and to sit on judging panels for the best children's books.[5]
