Abdul Muneer (born April 26, 1984) is an Indian mixed martial artist.[2] He is the first fighter from Kerala to be a part of the Indian team competing in an international mixed martial arts event.[3]
Early life[edit]
Born to Nadumoolipotta Punathil Unnimoyin and Nafeesa Nadumoolipotta, Abdul Muneer grew up in Calicut near Ramanattukara, Kerala, India, along with his elder brothers Abdul Shukoor and Jasir. He started training karate at the age of 12 and trained Kung-Fu at 13. In college he also started boxing.
Career[edit]
Abdul Muneer made his professional MMA debut in December 2012. He compiled a record of 6-1–0.[2] In his debut at Super Fight League 12 - Rise of the Challengers he have submitted Amit Pal by way of Rear Naked Choke.[4] He was awarded the Knock Out of the Night for knocking out Ahmed Ali in just 48 seconds during his first International bout.[5]
