Dr. Abiodun Ayodele Ojo is an applied organometallic chemist with research and teaching interests in analytical, environmental and forensic chemistry.[1] He is the Ag. Provost of the Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) Faculty of Sciences Afe Babalola University from October 2014; and an associate professor of chemistry in the Department of Chemical Sciences since October 2012. Ojo was the first head of department for the Department of Chemical Sciences, Afe Babalola University (November 2012 – October 2014).[2][3]
Background[edit]
Ojo has over twenty six years of teaching and research experiences from higher institutions in Nigeria, Canada and USA. He obtained his Ph.D. in Applied Organometallic Chemistry with concentrations in environmental, analytical and forensic chemistry from the University of British Columbia, Canada. His B.Sc. (First Class Honors) was obtained from the University of Ife, Nigeria.

Dr. Ojo has acquired professional membership of the Institute of Public Analyst of Nigeria, Student Member (at the P-II level); American Academy of Forensic Science, Associate Member; American Chemical Society, Member; Atlanta Georgia Local Division American Chemical Society, Member; Two-Year College Chemistry Consortium (2YC3), Member; Georgia Academy of Science, Member and Counsellor; Chemical Education Division American Chemical Society, Member; Southwest Georgia Local Division American Chemical Society, Member; Georgia Lakes Society & Georgia Adopt-A-Stream; Analytical Chemistry Division American Chemical Society, Member; Environmental Chemistry Division American Chemical Society, Member; IUPAC member, Member; Chemical Research Toxicology Member; Chemistry and the Law Member. He was a Member of Board of Directors, Thronateeska Guardians for the Flint River Water Quality in Bainbridge Georgia. Dr. Ojo has taught various chemistry and forensic science courses at college and university levels, including General and Physical Chemistry, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry, Spectroscopy, Analytical Chemistry, Topics in Science Leadership and Research, Introduction to Forensic Science, Forensic Trace Evidence, Forensic Serology, Forensic Chemistry, Advanced Laboratory, Control Substance and Toxicology, Evidence Analysis and Research. He was the chemistry program coordinators at Bainbridge College, Atlanta Metropolitan State College, and Forensic Science Coordinator at Albany State University. Ojo has published in local and international journals and has attended and presented at various scientific meetings and conferences in Nigeria, Canada and the United States of America.
