Abortive gasp
Abortive Gasp was a Dark wave group formed by lead singer Tim Paal and composer Harry Luehr in 1988 in Hamburg, Germany, later expanding to a trio with the addition of keyboarder Stefan Trienes.
History[edit]
In their homeland, the Electronic Body Music- and post-Industrial-scene, they were musically characterised by the atypical high degree in improvisation as well as the early application of Dub. Because of their apolitical position they were contentious.
The assessments about Abortive Gasp by different music journalists like Brian Duguid[1] were positive with reservation. Their famous songs Humanity and Psychgod got good airplay on particular broadcast stations in the United States, Belgium and Australia.
In their final phase in winter 1989 the band drew attention as the support act of Borghesia to which artist's manner they constituted a hard contrast.[2] The band broke up in December 1989.
