Adam Edwards III (born July 6, 1976) is a former college American football player who played for Oklahoma State in 1996, 1998 and 1999. He later worked in pharmaceutical sales and in franchise business and development.

Education and football[edit]

Edwards graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business, health, and criminal justice.[1] He played for the Oklahoma State Cowboys football teams in 1996, 1998, and 1999.[2] He attended training camp with the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent in the summer of 2000,[3] but he was released in August before the 2000 NFL season began.[4]

Business career[edit]

Pharmaceutical/charitable[edit]

From March 2003 to November 2006, Edwards worked in pharmaceutical sales representing Ortho-McNeil Products in western Oklahoma.[1] From November 2006 to June 2009, he then worked in Oklahoma for Ther-Rx, a pharmaceutical company specializing in vaginal creams and transdermal spray.[1]

From 2009 to 2012, Edwards was associated with Hunger Relief International (HRI) in the area of "global sponsor relations".[1]

Franchise[edit]

From November 2011 to June 2013, Edwards and his wife, Sarah Ainsworth-Edwards, operated a company called Nspire.[1] Nspire invested in a master franchise in Oklahoma for Golden Heart Senior Care, a provider of in-home care for senior citizens.[1][5]

From January to July 2015, Edwards worked as the executive director of franchise development for Mrs. Winner's Chicken & Biscuits, a regional fast food restaurant chain.[1]

Edwards and his wife also operate a franchise brokerage business called iMatch that seeks to match clients with franchise opportunities.[6][7][8]

Edwards is also the founder and chairman Waters Edge Winery, a winery and wine bar in Oklahoma City that he describes as an "urban winery franchise".[1][9][10][11] Water's Edge received a Beacon Award for philanthropy from The Journal Record in 2016.[12] It was also recognized by the web site okc.biz in 2015 as one of the top venues in Oklahoma City for an event or meeting, [13] in addition to being named by So6ix magazine as Oklahoma City's best winery in 2016 and 2017.
