Aditya Dev (born 02 December 1983), is an Indian music producer and instrumentalist for Bollywood films. Born in a Bengali family in Ranchi, to Ashwini Aditya Dev, (father, mimicry artist and anchor) Aditya finished his schooling from Ranchi Carmel school. In a career spanning more than a decade, Aditya has worked with various artistes like Salman Khan, Asha Bhosle Ji, Arijit Singh, Shaan, Arko, Ayushman Khurana & Badshah to name a few. The turning point in his life came in the year 2012 with his first song “Kabhi Jo Badal Barse” featuring Arijit Singh from the movie Jackpot.
Early life[edit]
Aditya started his musical journey very early in life at the age of 7 when he went to Kathmandu with his family. He was visiting a supermarket in Kathmandu when he saw a pencil box with a piano on top of it. He persuaded his father to buy it for him and ended up playing it till its battery drained. This was the starting point of his love for music. He then started travelling with his father for various shows across the country which made him get rid of the early stage fear. This passion for music made him lead his classmates in school for musical shows. Aditya started doing live shows since he was in 8th grade. At a very young age of 13, Aditya had started recording keys for various renowned artists. The very same year he found himself getting calls from Akashvani and Doordarshan to perform. Aditya Dev came to Mumbai at the age of 22, which gave him the exposure for the years to come.
Career[edit]
Aditya met his wife Payal in the year 2003 at a show, where they were performing together. Payal Dev pushed him to relocate to Mumbai. The breakthrough in his career came in the year 2006, when he met Krishna, the music composer. With this he got an opportunity to do a project featuring Shaan, Baba Sehgal and Payal Dev. This was Payal Dev’s debut album as well. The next breakthrough for him came in the year 2009, when he bagged an offer to perform at the Woodstock festival with the renowned musician Anuradha Pal’s band “Recharge”. In the same year, he got a chance to play with the legendary Asha Bhosle and Shaan along with their respective bands. This stint lasted for 7 more years.
Personal life[edit]
Aditya Dev got married to Payal Dev, a renowned singer and the fame behind who is his frequent collaborator, in the year 2008 following many years of working together. The couple resides in Mumbai.
Filmography[edit]
Pritam won 17 awards for composing Ae Dil Hai Mushkil's soundtrack, highest no. of awards he received for composing a film's soundtrack to date. Second to it is Barfi!'s soundtrack.
