Ranu Mondal is an Indian playback singer. She sang her first song with the music composer Himesh Reshammiya.[1] Her talent came into attention when a 26-year-old engineer Atindra Chakraborty[2] made a video footage of her singing Ek pyar ka nagma hai,[3] in Ranaghat railway station, which went viral in social media.


Early Life[edit]

She was born in Krishnanagar, West Bengal. In her childhood she lost her mother. She had married twice, one from her first husband after his death she married to another person. Her second husband lives in Mumbai.[4]She has a son and one daughter each from both husband. Due to the lack of job and an ongoing depression, she had to leave the city and went to Ranaghat alone, there she used to sing at the Railway station.[5]

Work[edit]

She recorded her first song Teri meri kahani with Himesh.[6][7]She sang her second song with him i.e. Aadat.[8]

She also sang Aashiqui Mein Teri with Himesh.[9][7]

She also got an offer by Rakhi Sawant to sing a song.[10]
