Adrian Țofei ([tsofei] ; born July 20, 1987) is a Romanian filmmaker and actor. He directed, produced, wrote and starred in Romania's first found footage horror movie, Be My Cat: A Film for Anne (2015)[1], for which he won Best Actor at Nashville Film Festival and Best Film at A Night of Horror Film Festival in Sydney.[2][3] The movie was included in "top 5 best horror films of 2016" by Dread Central, in "top 5 new intelligent found footage films" by Blumhouse, and in "top 7 recent European horror films" by Film Threat.[4][5][6] Austin Chronicle called it "terrifying" and compared it to a modern Peeping Tom, Little White Lies called it "a prime example of meta-cinema" and said it falls between Man Bites Dog and Creep, and Dread Central described it as "revolutionary and dangerous".[7][8][9] It is now considered a cult film by fans and film professionals.[10][11]

Țofei has been married to actress Duru Yücel-Țofei since January 22, 2017.[12] The two have also become partners onscreen in Adrian's upcoming feature film We Put the World to Sleep.[13]
