Khlapieel Benjamin

Khlapieel Benjamin is an Assyrian poet, activist, and filmmaker from Iraq. He has gained international recognition for his poetry and activism.

Some of his most popular poems include "M'Dogellon (They Lied)", "Mota (Death)", and "Atree (My Land)".

Filmography[edit]

Benjamin has filmed and directed a number of programs for Assyrian National Broadcast,[citation needed] as well as music videos for various Assyrian artists.[citation needed] He made his documentary film directorial debut in 2015 with The Rise of Gilgamesh after traveling to Syria following ISIS's 2015 invasion of the Khabour Region. In November 2016, he announced two forthcoming documentaries: A second film on the Assyrians of Khabour and a short film on the Assyrian valley of Nahla, Iraq.
