History
The Matineé Journal
The Matineé Journal is a Movie Review website founded by Appling that reviews films, shows, songs, and books. The Journal was originally going to be published as a Podcast but the idea was discarded due to creative incompatibilities and designed into a website. The website was founded under Appling's film production entity Matineé Arts.
SoundOfMind Sergeant
The Matineé Podcast started on Youtube on a channel named SoundOfMind Sergeant where Appling discusses Mental Health topics from a script to a camera. The production was timely and cancelled soon after airing.
Afternoon Appointment
The first episode was originally a school project assigned to Appling's 12th grade English class where students were required to do research on any topic and present it in a podcast. The previous project was an original review which kicked off The Matineé Journal reviews with the breakdown of Denzel Washington. Appling then decided to join SoundOfMind Sergeant and The Matineé Journal together into Afternoon Appointment.
