Lionel Bea (Born February 23, 1964) is an American entertainment promoter and producer from Oakland, California. He may be best known as the first manager for Oakland rapper, Too Short, but he has grown to be one of the most respected concert promoters in Black music and comedy. He is also the promoter for the New Year’s Black Comedy explosion which started in the late 1980s and continued until 2012.
Career
Lionel Bea attended Oakland High School where he met Too Short. In the late 1980s, he joined forces with local promoters to create the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition.
