Ahmad Sukarno Abd Al Hafiz Hussein (Arabic: أحمد سوكارنو عبد الحافظ حسين), better known as Sukarno. Sukarno (born January 12, 1958, in Dahmit, Aswan Governorate) is a writer, literary critic and academic researcher, the head of the English Department of the Faculty of Arts at Aswan University, and Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Aswan University.

Education

He graduated from Assiut University with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English in 1981, then obtained a Pre-Master's degree from the Faculty of Arts at Sohag University in 1984. He then completed his education in the United States and obtained a master's degree in linguistics from New York University in 1985, and from the same university he obtained a degree PhD in linguistics in 1988.

Career

Sukarno began his academic career after appointed as a teaching assistant at the Department of English at Assiut College in 1981 after graduating. After returning from the United States, he was appointed a teacher in the English Department of the Faculty of Arts at South Valley University in 1988, then got promoted to become an assistant professor in the same department in 1994. He also worked as the acting head of the English Department of the Faculty of Arts at the same university between 1995 and 2004, and during that period he worked in many positions including Vice Dean for Student Affairs in 1995 and 1996, and Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research between 1996 and 1999. He moved to Aswan University in 2000 and held the position of Supervisor of the English Language Department at the Faculty of Arts and was appointed as a Supervisor of the college in the academic years 2002-03 and 2005–06, and between 2009 and 2011, until he was appointed Professor at the Faculty of Arts at Aswan University in 2009, and was appointed Dean of the college between 2011 and 2014.
