Ahmed Al Qarmalawy (Arabic:أحمد القرملاوي), an Egyptian author and novelist, was born in 1978. He has published one short story collections and five novels including Summer Rain which won the Sheikh Zayed Book Award in 2018.
Education and career[edit]
Ahmed Al Qarmalawy was born in Cairo, Egypt in 1978. He moved with his family to the State of Kuwait, where he lived until he completed his secondary education. Then, he returned to Egypt to obtain his bachelor's degree in Architecture at the American University in Cairo in 2001. Later, he earned his master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. In 2013, Al Qarmalawy published his first book “The First Abbas” at the Cairo International Book Fair. A year later, he published his first novel “The Last Blog”. Then in 2018, his novel “Summer Rains” won the Sheikh Zayed Book Award; while his novel “A Final Call to Passengers” was awarded the Best Novel award at the Cairo International Book Fair, 2019.[1][2][3]
