The Aid People Change Nigeria Charity and Orphanage Organisation also known as Aid People Change Naija with acronym APCN is a non-profit organisation, founded in Benin City, Edo State, in the year 2008.[1] The organisation advocates for persons with disability (PWD)[2] also operates Orphanage [3] in Nigerian regions and other west Africa countries.[4][5]
Background[edit]
In January 2008, the Aid People Change Nigeria Charity and Orphanage Organisation, was founded, to later get regional offices in West Africa and Europe. Shortly, the organisation innovated APCN Humanitarian Awards[6][7] and finally earned popularity in West Africa regions for awarding musicians, actors and actresses, politicians and Human rights defenders with an annual APCN Humanitarian Awards . The first APCN Humanitarian award ceremony was held at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City in 2008. Majek Fashek was first to receive the award same year. The ceremony was hosted and presented by Nigeria music icon Victor Uwaifo, then sponsored by Guinness Nigeria plc, for Aid People Change Nigeria Charity and Orphanage organisation. The ceremony was also aired on various Nigerian local and national radio stations. During the registration of the organisation in 2008, at Corporate Affairs Commission, Nigeria , it was rotationally broadcast on Nigerian national medias, such as 95.75 – Edo Broadcasting Service, Aduwawa (EBS) and Africa Independent Television to seek public opinion if the organisation could add Nigeria to their non profit company's name, it was debated at Abuja and the Federal Republic of Nigeria finally approved the name . In year 2020, the President of the organisation reported a huge success of the recent 2.3 million subscribed volunteers members to their organisation, on Splash Fm Ibadan and "Goodmorning Nigeria radio fm station" on iHeartMedia.[8][9]

Missing children controversy[edit]
In 2014 -2019, Aid People Change Nigeria Charity and Orphanage Organisation was accused by Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development of missing babies. The incident was published all over Nigeria blogs and social media,such as Facebook ,Twitter and Instagram.The board members of Aid People Change Nigeria Charity and Orphanage Organisation went on social media, to refuse all accusation filed against them by demostrating that the missing babies were stolen by their biological parents.[11]
National peaceful protest[edit]
In 2021, Aid People Change Nigeria Charity and Orphanage Organation staged another national protest to obtain social inclusion for persons living with disabilities in Nigeria[12] in Nigeria, the national peaceful protest was held in on the 7th of January 2021, but the success of their demands wasn't disclosed.
Death of George Nkencho[edit]
On the 3rd -5 January 2021, the Aid People Change Nigeria Charity and Orphanage Organisation sent 800 volunteers to protest all over Blanchardstown in Dublin15.They positioned 50 of their volunteers in front of Garda Station and other parts of the village, seeking for Justice for the Death of George Nkencho, the protest was broadcast on their official Facebook live video.[13][14]
Awards and honors[edit]
In 2015, Aid People Change Charity and Orphanage Organisation received triple honors "Exemplary organisation of the year” “Award of excellence” and “Best outstanding Organisation of the year” from Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development. In 2016, they received "Award for Exemplary Organization of the year"[5] from Edo State former Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
