Akode Islamic Centre is a system for moulding a generation that upholds knowledge, morality, and high human values. The institution has been moving forward with several educational systems for the last twenty years on the banks of the Chaliyar, where Malappuram and Kozhikode districts share the border. The institution started in 2002 in a thatched shed for three cents with over twenty students, and today it has grown to over 1500 students on six campuses spread across 11 acres. The Islamic Centre is relevant where the needs of the new era are understood and projects are implemented for the betterment of society.

The aided school, associated with the Akode Islamic Centre, has gained recognition and received numerous awards and accolades.[1][2][3][4][5] In addition to the school, the institution operates the Islamic Da'wa Academy, Daiya Academy, Thahfeezul Quran College, Albir Islamic Pre School, and Bright Public Nursery School.

While placing a strong emphasis on education, the Akode Islamic Centre also engages in various charitable initiatives, with orphan care being a primary focus.

Orphan care[edit]

In 2010, the Akode Islamic Centre expanded its operations to include orphan care. Rather than establishing a separate orphanage (Yatimkhana), the officials of the centre chose to support orphaned children by providing assistance within their own homes, alongside their mothers and other family members. Initially, the project encompassed 33 children from 21 families across eight Mahalls within the Vazhakkad Panchayat. By 2016, the scope of services was broadened to include nearby panchayats, and in 2021, it further extended to encompass the Malappuram and Kozhikode districts.[6] At present, the Akode Islamic Centre supports 331 orphans from 173 families across various locations in Kerala, ensuring that they receive care and nurturing from their mothers without being separated from their familial bonds.[citation needed]

Pillars[edit]

The Akode Islamic Centre's operations are supported by numerous chapter committees located in various regions, including Qatar,[7] the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bangalore, and several mahals within and outside of Kerala. These committees provide invaluable assistance and collaboration to the center. Recently, a new UAE Chapter Committee was formed, which marked its inception with an Iftar meet this year that attracted significant attention.[8][9]
