The school was established in 1924. Initially it was the only secondary school and was affiliated by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education. It is one of the most oldest schools of Akra.

The school beganin 1924. It was only secondary school. It was later affiliated to West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education for higher secondary education. At the time of Higher Secondary Affiliation it offered curriculums in humanities and science; in 2019 the school has started commerce also.
