Albert Pocej
Albert Pocej (b. May 15, 1974) is a Lithuanian photographer who works and resides in the Principality of Monaco and is known for his original and controversial images capturing women having an orgasm.
Early life[edit]
Pocej was born on May 15, 1974 in Vilnius, Lithuania. His passion for photography started in early childhood when he was 10 years old and had first opportunity to explore an old “Zenit” at his parents’ home. Photography didn‘t become his main profession until later in life, but always was his passion and favourite activity.
Career[edit]
From 2016 Pocej has started his extraordinary project where he captures women at the highest point of physical pleasure. This project shows the female orgasm through a photography experiment. “I wanted to show the real feeling, as real, it gets,” he said. “Every woman being is different, so are their orgasms. I wasn’t trying to make it any better [than] it is in life.”[1]
The project objective is not about girl’s body, everything is about viewer‘s imagination. The main goal was to make photographs esthetical, different, and start a discussion about not being ashamed of our emotions. Pocej found fame when his work about the project has featured internationally in magazines such as Huffington Post, „Elite Daily,[2] Mirror,[3] Cosmopolitan, Elle, „Metro, „Bild, Stern, Playboy, GQ, and Maxim. Alongside his practice as photographer, Pocej has also been lecturing about photography. He now has a large number of followers and students through Europe and UK.
