Albert Pocej
Albert Pocej (b. May 15, 1974) is a Lithuanian photographer who works and resides in the Principality of Monaco and is known for his original and controversial images capturing women experiencing orgasm.
Early life
Pocej was born on May 15, 1974, in Vilnius, Lithuania. His passion for photography began in early childhood, when he was 10 years old and had his first opportunity to explore an old "Zenit" camera at his parents' home. Photography did not become his main profession until later in life, but it was always his passion and favourite activity.
Career
From 2016, Pocej started his extraordinary project capturing women at the peak of physical pleasure. This project documents the female orgasm through a photographic experiment. "I wanted to show the real feeling, as real as it gets," he said. "Every woman is different, so are their orgasms. I wasn't trying to make it any better than it is in life."[1]
The project's objective is not about the female body; it focuses on the viewer's imagination. The main goal was to create aesthetically pleasing, unique photographs and spark a discussion about not being ashamed of our emotions. Pocej gained international recognition when his work from this project appeared in magazines such as Huffington Post, Elite Daily,[2] Mirror,[3] Cosmopolitan, Elle, Metro, Bild, Stern, Playboy, GQ, and Maxim. In addition to his photography practice, Pocej has also lectured on photography. He now has a large number of followers and students throughout Europe and the UK.
