Alex Connock is a British digital media executive.[1]

Career[edit]

Connock is the former Managing Director of Television, and a branded content producer at Endemol Shine North, leaving the company in 2017.[2][3] He co-founded the media group Ten Alps with Bob Geldof and was its CEO from 1998 to 2011. Previously, he was an executive at the Television production company Planet 24 from 1992 to 1998.[4][5][unreliable source?][6] He is a trustee of the UNICEF UK and the Halle Concerts Society (Halle Orchestra) and is a voting member of the BAFTA.[7][8]

Connock has held numerous academic roles throughout his career including Associate Fellow focused on e-commerce video studies at Saïd Business School of the University of Oxford,[9] Entrepreneur in Residence at INSEAD (Fontainebleau),[10] Visiting Professor in digital innovation at Manchester Metropolitan University, Visiting Professor at University of Salford Business School, Visiting Professor at University of Sunderland, and Visiting Fellow at Reuter's Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford University 2011–13.[11]

Personal Life[edit]

Connock married television producer Sumi Connock in 1998, a global formats executive at BBC Worldwide.[12] He holds degrees from Oxford University (PPE St Johns College), Columbia University (Journalism), and INSEAD (MBA).
