Milestone portfolio companies[edit]

Greenko Group PLC is an Indian-based green energy company that Aloe Group invested €3.0 million in Feb 2006 for an 88% stake fully diluted.[5] The overall long term strategy was to build or acquire low emission, low waste Integrated Bio-Energy complexes to support India’s energy demand and security while adding value to the European mandatory Emission Trading Scheme (ETS). Initially the company focused on a consolidation of biomass power assets. Greenko sees the prospect of engaging into the aggregation of valuable assets relying on other renewable energy sources like hydro and wind power assets. In November 2007, Greenko Group PLC completed an initial public offering on AIM, London Stock Exchange under the ticker GKO.[6][7] The company is an approximate half billion renewable energy company that is operating in wind,[8] hydro power and biomass.[9]

EnviroCom is a UK based waste electrical and electronic equipments (WEEE) recycling centre.[10] Aloe Group invested in 2007. EnvironCom created a compliance scheme that has been granted permission to act as a UK Compliance Scheme for WEEE recycling.[11] The company is the largest pure-play WEEE recycling company in the UK. It won CIWM Environment Excellence Award[12] and Green Business Award in 2012[13] in the UK.

AgroGeneration is a sustainable producer of arable commodities with a long-term goal to bring fallow land back into agricultural production with efficient and environmentally friendly farming in Ukraine.[14] Aloe Group invested in AgroGeneration in 2008. Given an efficient industrial farming model, low central costs per hectare and the attractive acquisition cost of farming assets, AgroGeneration is able to increase significantly its land under management and its value for shareholders. On March 1, 2010 AgroGeneration was listed on Paris Alternative market of NYSE -Euronext.[15] It is a company now with market capitalisation of € 70m.

Polygenta is a technology company that has a proprietary, commercially proven and patented manufacturing process to produce polyester filament yarn from curb-side post-consumer waste PET bottles.[16] Aloe Group first invested in the company as a part of PerPETual Group in 2007.[17] The company is implemented at the 30000 tpy recycling facility in Nashik, India. The ReNEW process recycle dirty clear and coloured plastic bottles.[18] Polygenta’s plant makes sustainable yarn from post-consumer plastic bottles. The company’s recycling plant in Nashik is capable of producing PET chips, Partially Orientated Yarn (POY) and Drawn Texturised Yarn (DTY) for the Indian textile industry and export markets.[19] Following textiles the other market verticals for ReNew are PET bottle manufacturing as well as PET films and adhesives. This investment won the Sustainable Investment Award of the Year of 2012 from the FT/ICF Sustainable Finance Award.[3]
